Meet Lelco

Lelco is an independent technical services business based in Hawkwell, Essex, founded by Lel Sweetman. Its roots go back to LS Electronics, established in 1993.

The business supports homeowners, landlords, small businesses and community organisations with electrical systems, air conditioning, refrigeration, heat pumps, EV charging, solar and battery technologies, security, home automation, networks and selected repairs.

What makes Lelco different is the ability to look across traditionally separate disciplines. An electrical installation may depend on the network, a solar system on its controls, or a security system on reliable connected equipment. Thinking about the whole system helps deliver a more useful result.

Our approach

Practical advice, fair dealing, careful workmanship and clear documentation sit at the centre of each job. Lelco works to applicable safety standards and manufacturers’ requirements.

Lel’s commitment to supporting the local community was recognised with Rochford District Council’s Citizen of the Year Award for charitable support.

Lelco only accepts work within our own skills and capabilities. We do not pass customer jobs to subcontractors, so the person responsible for your job remains accountable from initial discussion through to completion.

Responsible handling of waste

Lelco holds Environment Agency lower-tier registration CBDL296614. This registration applies only to activities permitted at lower tier; it is not an unrestricted customer-waste collection service. Where waste removal is offered, any required permissions and lawful disposal arrangements are confirmed separately.

Supporting the local community

Lelco volunteers with Hamelin Trust, where we have established a community workshop for service users, and supports East Essex Hackspace with electronics training, Repair Cafés and maintenance of shared facilities. Read about our community involvement →
